For more than five decades, our school has had the privilege of nurturing hearts and minds in a Christ-centered community. What began as a small day nursery in 1967 has grown into a thriving Christian preschool, elementary, and junior high school that continues to serve families across the Santa Clara Valley with a commitment to high academic standards and a strong foundation of faith in the United States. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us here—and we look forward to the exciting future God has in store.
On September 11, 1967, our doors opened for the first time. The vision was simple but profound: to establish a Day Nursery and Child Care program for children between the ages of two-and-a-half and five years old. Even in these early years, families recognized the importance of entrusting their children to a safe, nurturing environment grounded in Christian values.
A major turning point came in June 1979 when the neighboring Coventry Elementary School in the Moreland School District closed its doors. Leaders of both the church and the school board recognized this as a God-given opportunity. That fall, with 105 eager students, our Christian elementary school was launched, serving grades Kindergarten through 6th grade students. The mission was clear: to pair strong academics with spiritual growth in an environment rooted in Biblical truth. That is when our small Christian school opened its doors.
Our community’s enthusiasm allowed for rapid growth. In 1980, 7th grade was added, bringing total enrollment to 205 students. By 1981, we had expanded once more, adding 8th grade and welcoming 297 students into our classrooms, alongside 50 little ones in the day nursery. What began as a small program was now blossoming into a full-fledged school for early childhood through junior high.
With our growth, new challenges arose. In 1990, circumstances required us to move onto the church property, which became our new, permanent campus. Although the smaller facilities meant a reduction in student enrollment (limiting the program to Kindergarten through 6th grade), our mission remained unchanged: to provide a high-quality Christian education for families throughout Silicon Valley.
Far from discouragement, this move sparked a renewed commitment from both the school board and church leaders. Our enrollment steadily rose, filling preschool and elementary grades to capacity. This season became a foundational step toward the prosperous growth we would later enjoy.
In 1998, the school entered an important phase of expansion, adding one class per year beginning with Kindergarten until we reached two classes per grade from K–5. This thoughtful growth allowed us to expand our impact while maintaining the personalized, nurturing atmosphere that parents value.
Recognizing the needs of local families, we launched an Infant/Toddler program in 2004. This milestone broadened our ministry to children across grade levels, creating a lasting community that grows with families across the years.
The early 2010s marked another milestone in our journey.
For more than half a century, our school has been a place where children not only excel academically but also learn the values of love, service, integrity, and faith. Our dedicated teachers create classrooms filled with joy and curiosity, while our families form a supportive community that extends far beyond the school walls.
From the earliest learners in our nursery and toddler programs to elementary children discovering new talents to junior high students preparing for the challenges of high school, every child is given the opportunity to flourish here—academically, spiritually, and personally.
Our past 50 years are a testimony to God’s faithfulness and the passion of families who believe in a Christ-centered education. As we look forward to the future, we dream big: expanding programs, exploring new ways to integrate technology into learning. Most importantly, we want to continue to raise up generations of young people who love the Lord and live out their calling with confidence, making us one of the best public and private schools in the area.
We know that the journey ahead will bring new opportunities, and with the strong foundation built over five decades, our school is ready to meet them—anchored in faith, supported by our community, and guided by God’s grace.
