Junior High at Campbell Christian Schools prepares students for success in high school and beyond through an academically rigorous, faith-integrated curriculum. 6th Grade

Students are placed in one of two leveled courses: Math Grade 6 or Accelerated Math 7. Both courses use McGraw Hill Reveal Math Course 1, aligned with Common Core standards and emphasizing conceptual understanding, fluency, and real-world application.

7th Grade

Students may take Math Grade 7, Accelerated Math 7, or Algebra 1, using Reveal Math Course 2 or Algebra 1. These classes introduce algebraic thinking, problem-solving with rational numbers, and data interpretation.

8th Grade

Students may be placed in Math Grade 8, Algebra 1, or Geometry using Reveal Math Course 3, Algebra 1, or Geometry. This progression prepares students for advanced high school mathematics.

Across grades, students’ math journeys may follow five distinct progression paths tailored to individual growth. Teachers emphasize problem-solving over rote memorization, guiding students to understand mathematical models as evidence of God’s order and design in the world.

History: Exploring God’s Hand Through Time

History instruction in CCS Junior High uses the digital TCI History Alive! curriculum, one of the nation’s most engaging programs for interactive history learning. Each unit begins with an essential question designed to spark curiosity and inspire inquiry. Students explore primary sources, work collaboratively on projects, and connect past events to biblical values like justice, leadership, and faithfulness.

6th Grade – The Ancient World

Students study early civilizations of Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, China, Greece, and Rome. They learn how cultural innovations in government, art, and faith continue to shape modern society. Lessons focus on comparing worldviews and understanding how belief systems influence history.

7th Grade – Medieval World and Beyond

Students explore civilizations across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas, gaining insight into how geography, trade, and ideas interconnected across centuries. They analyze both Christian and secular influences in culture and governance.

8th Grade – The United States Through Industrialism

Eighth graders embark on a journey through American history, from the founding of the colonies through the early 1900s. Topics include independence, the Constitution, westward expansion, and the Industrial Revolution. This course lays the foundation for the eighth-grade Washington, D.C. trip, where classroom learning comes to life in the nation’s capital.

By examining faith and history together, students understand that God is sovereign over time—and that every civilization, leader, and event has a purpose within His greater story.

Science: Investigating Creation Through Inquiry

Science education at CCS is hands-on, discovery-driven, and aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Using the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Science Dimensions curriculum, students investigate natural phenomena and learn through experimentation, collaboration, and analysis.

Eighth graders complete a full survey of Scripture, gaining a deeper understanding of biblical history and God’s redemption plan. This engaging study uses storytelling, maps, and reflection to show how each part of the Bible points to Christ.

In addition to Bible classes, students participate in daily homeroom devotionals and attend 24 chapel programs each year. Chapel includes worship, guest speakers, service opportunities, and student-led presentations that build faith and leadership through active participation.
