Mrs. Celeste Gaither serves as both Athletic Director and Physical Education teacher for grades 4 through 8. Holding a Bachelor of Science from San Jose State University, she is a NASM-certified personal trainer and youth exercise specialist. A parent and active participant in CCS’s community volunteer roles, Mrs. Gaither brings not only expertise but also heart to her work. She is dedicated to fostering a love of health, fitness, and team spirit among CCS students.
Mr. Brian Kaewkan earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Cal State East Bay and focused on physical education. Starting at CCS as a 2nd-grade teacher, he transitioned to Physical Education to pursue his passion for fitness and health. He emphasizes building strong physical foundations and helping students understand the importance of exercise and physical activity. Mr. Kaewkan enjoys family time and is an avid basketball fan and Golden State Warriors supporter.
Mrs. Bora Im, originally from Korea, began her musical journey at age three with piano and composition, influenced by her musician parents. She was a top music student at Ewha Women’s University and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Music from the University of North Texas. Bora furthered her studies in classical composition, jazz, film scoring, and music ministry while earning a Master of Arts degree at Fuller Theological Seminary. She has taught music theory and piano at prestigious institutions including Berklee College of Music and Southern Methodist University. As a pastor’s wife and professional musician, Mrs. Im is passionate about nurturing students’ musical talents and worship leadership at CCS.
Since 1999, Mrs. Rhonda Jose has inspired CCS students with her dynamic and engaging art program. A California State University, Chico graduate in Social Sciences, Mrs. Jose brings enthusiasm and humor to every class. She nurtures creativity and challenges students to experiment and develop their artistic voices. As a CCS parent herself, her passion for education and art enriches the school’s vibrant community.
Mrs. Catherine Hickinbotham joined CCS in 2005 as the school librarian. Previously, she worked as a preschool teacher’s aide and elementary substitute teacher. With a degree in Liberal Studies from San Jose State University, Mrs. Hickinbotham loves inspiring children to become independent, lifelong readers. Both of her children are CCS alumni, reflecting her deep roots and commitment to the school community.
Mrs. Paty Gonda-Sayre teaches Spanish to junior high students. Born in Mexico City and educated in a bilingual school, she is fluent in language and culture. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work with over 15 years of diverse teaching experience, including K-12 tutoring and small group courses. A long-time member of Campbell Church of Christ, Mrs. Sayre brings deep cultural insight and a compassionate approach to her classroom.
Ms. Lisa Ohashi holds a Bachelor of Arts from San Jose State University, majoring in Liberal Studies with a minor in Math. She has taught technology, religion, and math in various public and private schools across the Bay Area. Ms. Ohashi’s teaching philosophy centers on answering the “whys” behind subject material, encouraging students to embrace learning passionately and to let their light shine. Outside the classroom, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and has a special fondness for Lego, Star Wars, and her iconic red Swingline stapler.
